Abstract

In this paper Polyacene quinone radical (PAQR) polymers were synthesized by the step-growth condensation of aromatic hydrocarbon derivatives reacting with pyromellitic anhydirde via a solvothermal method at 180°C for 2 h, using zinc chloride as catalyst and cyclohexane as solvent. The effects of solvents and different aromatic hydrocarbons on the synthesis and morphology of PAQR polymers were investigated.
