Abstract

Nanocomposite of poly(2-methoxyaniline) and gold was prepared by oxidative polymerization of methoxyaniline in aqueous solution with hydrogen tetrachloroaurate as oxidant and dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid (DBSA) as the dopant. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and UV-vis absorption spectrum were employed to characterize the product. UV-vis spectra show that poly(2-methoxyaniline) produced is in its conducting state. TEM images exhibit that Au nanoparticles are formed after the polymerization.
