Abstract
In this study, 2,3-bis(4-fluorophenyl)thieno[3,4-b]pyrazine and 3-hexylthiophene units were used as electronreleasing and electron-withdrawing moieties, respectively, to further decrease the band-gap, as compared to the previous thienopyrazine-carbazole copolymers because carbazole units may be more twisted from thieno[3,4-b]pyrazine units than from thiophene units, due to two hydrogen atoms of carbazole unit that are at ortho positions from to the main chain. This paper describes the synthesis, optical and electrochemical properties, and preliminary results of the polymer-based photovoltaic devices. Experimental
