Abstract

Some perimidine derivatives were synthesized by condensation reaction of 1,8-diaminonaphthalene and aromatic aldehydes in the presence of catalytic amount of Cu(NO 3 ) 2 , 6H 2 O in ethanol at room temperature. Some of the major advantages of this environmentally benign procedure are high yields, use of available catalyst operational simplicity and short reaction times. Graphical Several aryl-2,3-dihydroperimidines were synthesized at room temperature via the condensation reaction of 1,8-diaminonaphthalene and aromatic aldehydes in the presence of Cu(NO3)2, 6H2O as an efficient catalyst.
