Abstract

Synthesis of chemically homogeneous and agglomerate free powder of a potential structural ceramic material, partially stabilized zirconia (PSZ) was developed in this investigation. Although many routes for synthesizing PSZ are currently available the route adopted in the present study uses inexpensive starting materials as compared to other sol-gel routes. This study clearly showed that uniformly sized and chemically homogeneous powders can be produced by this route.
