Abstract

Abstract The reactions of bis (pentafluorophenyl)thallium-(III) halides with nickel (I) complexes,NiL3X (X=Cl,Br,I; L=PPh3,AsPh3) lead to the isolation of haloorgano-nickel(II) complexes,(C6F5)NiL2X, through transfer of C6F5, simultaneous precipitation of thallous halide and elimination of ligand. Similar reactions with the pentacoordinate carbonyl nickel (I) complexes Ni(CO)2(PPh3)2X produce the same compounds, now with elimination of both CO groups.
