Abstract

AbstractA new family of oxazolines was synthesized in high yields and was characterized by NMR, IR, and MS. Oxazoline–lanthanide complexes, as the novel Lewis acid catalysts, were applied to the asymmetric cyanosilylation of ketones that gave the corresponding cyanohydrin trimethylsilyl ethers in moderate yields and enantioselectivities under mild conditions. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
