Abstract

In this study, the synthesis of novel azo-linked acridines via the reaction of dimedone and synthesized diazoaryl-(2-amino-5-(phenyl)methanone using GO-ZnO nanocomposite is reported. The synthesized catalyst was characterized by FT-IR, XRD, UV-Visible, TEM and SEM. According to the results, Graphene Oxid-ZnO (GO-ZnO) nanocomposite revealed high activity in the synthesis of azo-acridine derivatives. In all reactions, the catalyst can be easily removed and is reusable. The catalytic activity of GO-ZnO is maintained after five runs without significant decrease. The structures of all new synthesized products were characterized by spectroscopic data (FT-IR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR) and elemental analyses.
