Abstract
Sialyl phosphonate was synthesized by nucleophilic substitution of sialyl phosphite with dimethyl trimethylsilyl phosphite using TMSOTf as a catalyst and converted to CMP-NeuNAc analogue 2 using Mitsunobu condensation.
