Abstract

A nitrogen-rich nanotube with open mesopore channels to its internal compartments is reported to enable high-performance lithium ion hybrid capacitors, which show high energy densities (274–127 W h kg−1) exceeding the energy density of even a supercapacitor more than ten-folds, at a power density of 153–22800 W kg−1, along with fast rate capability over robust discharge and charge cycles.
