Abstract
Catalytic amounts of Pd(OAc) 2 in the presence of n -Bu 4NCl, DMF and an appropriate base (Na 2CO 3, (NaOAc or Et 3N) cyclize nitrogen-containing o -iodoaryl alkenes to indoles, indolines,3 oxindoles, quinolines, isoquinolines and isoquinolones in short reaction times, under mild temperatures, and in high yields.
