Abstract

An amorphous 3D-Ti(IV)-(syn-anti)-(Me, Me)-Bimane polymeric MOFs were successfully synthesized for the first time, by applying simple fast assembling of syn-and anti-isomers-(Me, Me)bimane under microwave assisted hydrothermal procedures. Although the applied mixed ligands of (syn-anti-(Me, Me) bimane have high degree of symmetry in their structures, it was expected to give crystalline Ti-MOFs, but it produced an amorphous Ti(IV)-MOFs. The coordination chemistry of core-bimane isomers as mono-, di- and tridentate still unexplored. The molecular visualization studies, coupled with DFT calculations of the produced amorphous Ti(IV)-MOFs were manage to propose different possibilities for mixed ligands of (syn-anti-(Me, Me) bimane) isomers, which can form octahedron-units with six-coordinative bonds with respect to syn-bimane as bi-dentate ligands, and square planar geometrical shape in case of mono-dentate anti-bimane ligands that, capable to form only four-coordinative bonds. The produced Ti-MOF is well characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS), field emission scanning electron microscopy FE-SEM, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), X-ray, UV/Vis. Spectra, Infrared absorption spectra (IR) and BET-specific surface area which found to be promising ultrahigh value of ~689m2/g.
