Abstract

Synthesis of new geminal surfactants is described. The products contain multiple chains each consisting of a hydrophobic C10-alkyl chain, further extended by hydrophilic ethyleneoxy-, EO-units, (-CH2CH2O-), which may be terminated by an alkyloxy sulfate, (-CH2CH2O-SO3Na), or -sulfonate group, (-CH2CH2CH2SO3Na). These chains are connected by EO-spacer groups. In this way was prepared non-ionic-, sulfate- and sulfonate surfactant molecules.
