Abstract

A review on the synthesis of metal complexes from dihalogen adducts of tertiary phosphines. It also discusses the activation of crude metal powders by reagents of PR3X2. The structural chem. of dihalogen adducts of tertiary phosphines is clearly diverse and is sensitive to the nature of R and X. Also the central atom E can play a crucial role, as can the solvent of prepn.
