Abstract

Synthesis of linear alkane (C14−C28) catalyzed by VV-promoted sulfated ZrO2 (SZV) from cyclohexane was carried out under extremely mild conditions in this work. Diesel fractions with satisfactory cetane numbers were obtained from cyclohexane as feedstock in such a simple method. Qualitative and quantitative analysis of each product was performed by a gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC−MS) system. The result of GC−MS analysis displayed that the long linear alkane was the main product and the total selectivity of the long linear alkane (C14−C28) in the products was 83.2%. The equal conversion of the cyclohexane was 28%. The regeneration property of SZV was also tested in this work.
