Abstract

This paper reports on the preparation and study of the structure, surface morphology, optical and electrical properties of lead titanate (PbTiO3) nanoparticles. The preparation of PbTiO3 nanoparticles was done by the sol–gel method. X-ray diffraction pattern was used to calculate the average crystallite size of PbTiO3 nanoparticles. Scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy analyses were used to study the surface morphology of PbTiO3 nanoparticles. The transmission electron microscopic analysis was used to measure the particle size of PbTiO3 nanoparticles. Absorption spectrum and photoluminescence spectrum were used to analyze the optical properties of PbTiO3 nanoparticles. The study of the dielectric properties of PbTiO3 nanoparticles like the dielectric constant, the dielectric loss and the AC conductivity were studied at different frequencies and temperatures.
