Abstract

Iron oxides nanoclusters were synthesized using Pluronic P123 and edetic acid as coordination agents, and its catalytic oxidation of CO to CO 2 with or without hydrogen were investigated. The crystalline pattern structure and morphology of iron oxide nanocluster was characterized by XRD and SEM, respectively. The result indicated that the crystalline of iron oxide and H 2 promoting effect determined the CO catalytic oxidation activity. The γ -Fe 2 O 3 showed less catalytic activity for CO oxidation without H 2 and the highest CO conversion was 80% at 500 °C; but it displayed higher activity for CO in H 2 stream and 100% CO conversion could be achieved at 220 °C.
