Abstract
Two new classes of rational functions are presented which are realizable as impedance functions of Foster-type RLC networks. In one class, pairs of poles and zeros interlace on the negative real axis and in the second class, complex poles and zeros interlace on certain <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">s</tex> -plane paths.
