Abstract

Halipeptins A-D are depsipeptides isolated from marine sponges. The reported syntheses of halipeptins A and D confirm the stereochemistry at C3 and C4. Biological testing revealed that both natural products, along with an oxazoline analogue, display anti-inflammatory activity. No cytotoxic activity was found despite previous reports to the contrary regarding halipeptin D.
