Abstract

The FeS nanoparticles have been synthesized from thioacetamide and ferric chloride by hydrothermal method, and the as-prepared nanoparticles have been characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectrometry and AC impedance spectrometry. Electrochemical reduction of 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene at nano FeS-modified glassy carbon electrode is investigated, and the results indicating that the FeS have a certain catalytic effect on 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene reduction. The reaction mechanism is also discussed.
