Abstract

A practical route is described for the preparation of enantiomerically pure analogues of the meta-substituted aniline antibiotics. Starting with enantiomerically pure anilinide, photooxygenation, reduction and diastereoselective Weitz-Scheffer epoxidation protocols provide enantiomerically pure analogues of the meta-substituted aniline antibiotics in three steps.
