Abstract
AbstractA synthesis for E/Z‐(R)‐1‐[4‐(4‐methoxyphenyl)‐4‐phenyl‐3‐butenyl]‐3‐piperidinecarboxylic acid (1) is described, starting from 4‐hydroxybenzophenone, utilizing a Grignard reaction with cyclopropyl magnesium bromide, intra‐rearrangement of the resulting carbinol and coupling of the butenyl bromide with the ethyl ester of (R)‐nipecotic acid, followed by an alkylation reaction and hydrolysis of the ester.
