Abstract

This paper deals with a design problem of robust output feedback guaranteed cost controllers for a class of uncertain linear systems. Our goal is to show an LMI-based design method of robust output feedback controllers which guarantee the upper bound on a given quadratic cost function. In this paper, by using the S-procedure we show that sufficient conditions for the existence of the robust output feedback guaranteed cost controller are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Furthermore, we consider a design method of an optimal robust output feedback guaranteed cost controller minimizing the upper bound on the quadratic cost function. Finally, a numerical example is included.
