Abstract

1. We carried out stereospecific polycondensations of triphenylmethyl ethers of 1,2-O-cyanoethylidene derivatives of D-glucuronic and pseudobiouronic acids. 2. We found that the polycondensation products of triphenylmethyl ethers of 1,2-O-cyanoethylidene derivatives of sugars do not contain the triphenylmethyl groups, whereupon the rate of removal of the trityl group is determined by the nature of the monomer. 3. We have proposed an appropriate method for estimating the average length of chain of the polycondensation products.
