Abstract

The synthesis of controller structure for load performance under input uncertainties is discussed. On the performance aspect, the generalized relative disturbance gain under input uncertainties (GRDGp) is derived. More importantly, once the uncertainty bounds are known, it can be calculated from GRDG in a straightforward manner. The issues of failure tolerance and integral controllability are discussed via the definition of CIC Based on these two considerations, the synthesis procedure is formulated as an optimization problem. A distillation example is used to illustrate the synthesis procedure.
