Abstract
In this work a facile synthesis method is adopted to demonstrate the large mesoporous carbon foam. The green foam was made from fine flour, yeast and xanthan gum were used as a base, leaving agent and binding agent respectively. After the blowing process the foam is placed in a tube furnace for pyrolysis. Finally, the foam heat absorption properties as well as heat retarding properties were established in contrast to traditional aluminum-based heat sink as well as K23 (aluminosilicate refractory) brick.
