Abstract

High-dose ion implantation is a non-equilibrium process that leads to the formation of amorphous, metastable and stable crystalline phases. This paper presents a brief discussion of the technique of high-dose ion implantation in metals and our results together with examples of amorphous, metastable and stable crystalline phases formed by ion implantation.
