Abstract

A synthesis method to produce the autonomous/self-governing zero-impedance converter to achieve an infinite disturbance rejection ratio and zero order dynamics in electric motor drive systems is presented. The converter is autonomous in that it can be used as a self-sufficient entity. The particular application described is not exclusive: the converter can be used in any other application which can make use of its properties. The converter consists of a positive current feedback loop and a negative voltage feedback loop with a current feedback circuit in the current loop of a prescribed transfer function. This arrangement then provides for the infinite disturbance rejection ratio in electric motor drive systems in which the converter is used to force the effects due to the equivalent motor impedance to zero. Furthermore, it allows for additional synthesizing of appropriate (feed)forward gains to achieve zero order dynamics. >
