Abstract

Abstract Ring-closing metathesis (RCM) is one of the most widely applied methods for the synthesis of a range of ring systems. Highlighting seminal examples from literature, this chapter, on the synthesis of aromatic heterocycles using RCM, discusses contributions from the Donohoe group. This chapter is divided into various sections based on the type of aromatic heterocycle synthesized. Application of the developed methodologies toward the synthesis of natural products is also elaborated.
