Abstract

Abstract A new amphiphilic macromonomer MA-PMEEVE-FmPH bearing a methacryloyl group at the α-terminus and a fluorene moiety at the ω-terminus was synthesized by living cationic polymerization and reductive amination, and its application to the preparation of monodisperse polymer particles was studied. It was found that the macromonomer afforded colloidal spheres covered with fluorene moieties, causing it to exhibit fluorescence.
