Abstract

AbstractThis Focus Review discusses the synthesis of an important member of the kainoid family; allokainic acid. The members of the kainoid family have attracted worldwide attention since their first isolation in 1953 due to their vast and potential medicinal applications, especially in neuroscience. The review focuses on the synthesis of allokainic acid using different synthetic methods from its first synthesis to the most recent one, covering 1953‐2014.
