Abstract

1. An Investigation was made into methods for the introduction of a silicon-attached alkyl containing an ether or ester grouping into certain alkoxyalkyl(or aryl)silanes and acetoxyalkylsilanes. 2. By the reaction of sodium and ethyl bromoacetate with chlorodiethoxyethylsilane and with chlorodi-thoxyphenylsilane, the following organosilicon compounds were prepared for the first time: diethoxy(ethoxycarbonylmethyl)ethylsilane and diethoxy(ethoxycarbonylmethyl)phenylsilane. 3. Reaction between alkoxy(chloroalkyl)silsnes and sodium alkoxides yielded two new compounds: diethoxy(ethoxytrethyl)methylsilane and diethoxytmettnoxymethyl)methylsilane. 4. Reaction between chloro(chloroalkyl)silanes and potassium acetate yielded two new compounds containing an acetoxy group in a silicon-attached alkyl radical: diacetoxy(acetoxymethyl)methylsilane and triacetoxy(acetnxymethyl)silane.
