Abstract

A triyne monomer was prepared by the reaction of oxotremorine and propargyl bromide. A new conjugated polymer was prepared by the double cyclopolymerization of triyne monomer by using transition metal catalyst. The instrumental analysis data on the polymer structure revealed that the resulting polymer have the conjugated polyene backbone system with two cyclic moieties in repeating unit. The photoluminescence (PL) spectra of polymer showed that the photoluminescence peak is located at 467 nm, corresponding to a photon energy of 2.66 eV. The cyclic voltamograms of polymer exhibited irreversible electrochemical behaviors between the doped and undoped peaks. It was observed that the irreversible oxidation and reduction were occurred at around 1.25 V and −1.7 V. The electrochemical process of polymer is reproducible and stable in the potential range of –2.0 ∼ +1.5 V vs Ag/AgNO3.
