Abstract

B-levyne, pure and free from aluminum, has been obtained by hydrothermal synthesis in the presence of quinuclidine as a structural-directing agent. X-ray powder diffraction, FTi.r., and 11B MAS n.m.r. analyses confirmed the insertion of boron in the zeolite framework. Upon removal of trapped organic materials by calcination, a limited structural collapse was observed. The levyne structure can be obtained also from synthesis gels containing, besides SiO 2 and B 2O 3, a source of aluminum.
