Abstract

The synthesis of a new class of acylplatinum complexes of composition [Pt(OC 6H 4CO)L aL b] L a = L b = PR 3, P(OR) 3, Ph 2PCH 2CH 2PPh 2, AsR 3; L a = 2-picoline, 3-picoline, 4-picoline, 15NH 2{CH 2} 5CH 3, L b = DMSO, is described. The complexes are synthesized from o-hydroxybenzaldehyde (salicylaldehyde) and K 2PtCl 4 and contain an organic chelating ligand bound to platinum via the phenolic oxygen and the aldehyde carbon. 1H, 13C, 31P and 195Pt NMR data for the new complexes are reported.
