Abstract

The algorithms for solving problems of amplitude-phase and phase antenna array synthesis according to a given amplitude directivity pattern are presented in this paper. An antenna array under an infinite plane screen is considered. The coupling of the screen and the mutual coupling of the radiators in the array are taken into account. Variational formulations of the problems are reduced to solving the Euler equations, which are nonlinear integral or matrix equations. The number of optimal solutions of the synthesis problem and its qualitative characteristics are investigated by branching theory methods. The numerical results of synthesis are given.
