Abstract

The synthesis of 1-O-alkyl-2-methoxy-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine from 1-O-alkyl-sn-glycerin isolated from the liver of Commandor Island squid is described. It was found that 1-O-alkyl-2-methoxy-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine effectively inhibits the proliferation of K 562 human leukemic cells and P 815 mouse mastocytoma cells in the range of concentrations 10–100 and 50–100 ΜM, respectively.
