Abstract
Optimal conditions to obtain β-Si 3N 4, through Self-propagating High-temperature Synthesis, have been determined and the growth of β-Si 3N 4 fibers has been achieved by means of a seeding technique. The specific surface variations have been considered in order to study their growth, due to the difficulty to analyze changes in fiber length by electronic microscopy.
