Abstract

A palladium-catalyzed arylation reaction of arylglyoxals with arylboronic acids has been achieved. The reaction produces various acyclic α-hydroxyketones in high yields under mild conditions. Of merits mention, the rigorous exclusion of air and moisture is not required in these transformations, offering a straightforward and practical approach for the synthesis of α-hydroxyketones.
