Abstract

KZnFe(PO4)2 zeolite compound was synthesized by solid state reaction and analyzed by XRD, DTA, FT-IR and UV–visDR. The powder X-ray diffraction confirmed the purity and the structure of the prepared sample. It crystallized in the monoclinic system with the space group C2/c. It adopted a Zeolite-ABW type structure made up from corners link between (Fe,Zn)O4 and PO4 tetrahedra. The resulted hexagonal tunnels were occupied by alkali cation. The DTA analysis showed the congruent melting of the compound at 920 °C. The FT-IR spectroscopy confirmed the presence of two PO43− groups in the structure. The UV–visDR revealed that a wide reflectance range is observed with the UV absorption. The electrical properties of KZnFe(PO4)2 were carried out using impedance spectroscopy. KZnFe(PO4)2 is, further, checked for the adsorption of a cationic dye (Methylene Blue). The effect of the change of experimental conditions i.e. pH, concentration, time and temperature was discussed. The phenomenon was chemical, favorable and monolayer as proved through the data modeling along pseudo second order and Langmuir theoretical equations.
