Abstract

In this paper, the particle size and morphology of spherical biogalsses(BGs) were regulated by changing the amount of catalyst and templating agent using the dual template method. The prepared BGs had good morphology, dispersibility, and rapid induction of hydroxyapatite generation. The cell activity was above 75 % after co-culture of BG extracts with mBMSCs cells. The surface modification of BG was carried out by γ-aminopropyl triethoxy silane (KH-550) to obtain amino functionalized BG (BG-NH2), which was then loaded doxorubicin hydrochloride (DOX) to obtain BG-DOX. The maximum loading of BG was 19.2 % and the encapsulation rate was 91.8 %. The drug release rate of BG-DOX was proportional to specific surface area, and it was capable to release DOX at high concentration for up to 10 days, which can be a good drug carrier.
