Abstract
A new Eu(III) compound, namely [Eu(L)(H2O)]n (1 H3L = biphenyl-3,4’,5-tricarboxylic acid), has been hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis indicated that Compound 1 crystallizes in the tetragonal chiral space group I41 and displays a twofold interpenetrated 3D framework containing 1D right-handed 41 helical chains as building subunits. Moreover, Compound 1 has intense Eu(III) characteristic emission with the quantum yield of 68.2%.
