Abstract

abstractTwo alkaline-earth metal organic complexes {Ba2(BTC)(H2O)}n (1) and {Ca4(BTC)2(DMF)2(H2O)6}n (2) (where H4BTC =1,2,4,5-benzenetetracarboxylate, DMF = N,N-dimethylformamide) based on H4BTC ligand have been solvothermally synthesized and characterized by X-ray single crystal diffraction, infrared spectra and thermogravimetric analysis. Complex 1 is a 3D framework structure with (4,6,10)-connected network constructed from 4-connected BaO9 unit, 6-connected BaO10 unit and 10-connected BTC4- unit, while complex 2 is a layered structure built from two types of helical chains with 4-connected BTC4- units and 4-connected binuclear units (Ca2O16 and Ca2O14N2). In addition, their thermogravimetric behavior and fluorescence property has been investigated.
