Abstract

Three complexes based on fluconazole, {[Cd(HFlu)2(bptc)0.5]·4.5H2O}n (1), {[Cd(HFlu)2(OH-BDC)]·8H2O}n (2), {[Mn(HFlu)2(OH-BDC)]·8H2O}n (3). (HFlu = fluconazole; H4bptc = 3,3′,4,4′-biphenyltetracarboxylic acid; OH-H2BDC = 5-hydroxyisophthalic acid) have been synthesized and structurally characterized. Complex 1 is a 1D loop-containing chain with a large number of free water molecules, which are further interconnected via O–H···O and O–H···N hydrogen bonds to form a 3D supramolecular framework. Complex 2 and 3 are both a 1D tubular structure with the distorted dinuclear cadmium rectangular shaped cavity and a large number of free water molecules are accommodated in the 1D tubular structure. The photoluminescent properties of the coordination polymers have also been investigated. Three 1-D complexes based on fluconazole have been reported, together with their photoluminescent properties.
