Abstract

Abstract Various amino monomers differing in the number of amine groups and the environment of the site were synthetized. These monomers were copolymerized with acrylamide, and the polymeric ammonium salts were characterized by viscometry, light scattering, and pH titration. Evidence of interactions between neighboring cationic sites was observed for a copolymer with a high local charge density due to three amino groups in the comonomer unit.
