Abstract

In this research, we synthesized a novel panchromatic absorption dimer porphyrin and designed a dimer molecule with maximum absorption in the visible and NIR regions. The work was followed and monitored by its photocatalytic function with anatase TiO2 and brookite-rutile TiO2, and preliminarily compared and tested its photocatalytic disinfection of gram-negative bacteria Escherichia coli (E. coli) in visible light conditions toward the potential of future studies. The finding results were compared with the bare anatase TiO2 and brookite-rutile TiO2. The prepared structure of molecules was confirmed by SEM, EDS, XRD, XPS, and solid-state diffuse reflectance spectral studies.
