Abstract

Three new polymeric tridimensional compounds with the composition [M3(seb)3(phen)2]n, where M = Co(II), Ni(II) and Mn(II), seb = (OOC–C8H16–COO)2-, phen = C12H8N2 were synthesized and characterized by physical and physico-chemical methods. The X-ray study revealed that the structures of all three coordination polymers consist of the trinuclear cores joined through sebacate dianions. The thermoanalytical study showed that coordination polymers are stable up to 250 °C and further heating results in the framework decomposition. Magnetic susceptibility data showed antiferromagnetic interactions in the Mn3 and Ni3 cores and ferromagnetic behavior for Co3 moiety.
