Abstract

The assemblies of two octacarboxylate-functionalized resorcin[4]arene and Zn2+ cations produce two coordination polymers, namely, [(CH3)2NH2][Zn4(L1)(μ3-OH)(H2O)]·DMF (1) and [(CH3)2NH2]2[NaZn3(L2)(μ2-OH)(H2O)]·2H2O (2). 1 and 2 show two dimensional (2D) frameworks. Remarkably, 1 and 2 produce intensive blue emissions and long lifetimes owing to d10 metals of Zn and resorcin[4]arene based ligands. More importantly, the intensity-based luminescence reveals that 1 and 2 are extremely more linear with temperature, indicating that they can be applied for potential temperature sensors.
