Abstract

The complexes [Pb4L4Cl]n(1) (HL = 4′-(4-(4‑carbonylphenyl)phenyl)-2,2′:6′2″ -terpyridine) and [PbL′(NO3)·NO3]n(2) (H2L′ = 4′-(4-(3,5-dicarbonylphenyl)phenyl) -2,2′:6′2″-terpyridine) were synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, IR sprectra and PXRD. Complex 1 is a 2D coordination polymer with one-dimensional open channels in the size of 18.35 × 18.35 Å2, while complex 2 has a coordination chain with an open channel. Both 1 and 2 can further stretched to a 3D supramolecular structure through π–π stacking interaction. The results of solid-state fluorescence spectrum at room temperature showed that complexes 1 and 2 exhibited blue light fluorescent property. They can be used as potential fluorescent materials that emit blue light.
