Abstract

A series of novel complexes of transition metal (Co, Fe and Mn) with imidaloze have been synthesized and characterized by Elemental Analysis, FT-IR and UV-Vis Absorption spectroscopy. Based on elemental and spectral data, the complexes were found to be of Co(C3H4N2)4(ClO4)2(1), Fe(C3H4N2)3(ClO4)3(2) and Mn(C3H4N2)4(Ac)2(3) (C3H4N2= imidazole). The three complexes and the ligand (imidazole) display DNA binding ability, ascertained by UV-Vis titration.
